Scientific Investigators' Workshop
November 5 - 12, 1996

TENTATIVE AGENDA

This tentative agenda was prepared at the September 12, 1996 EXCO meeting. The workshop is intended to foster both disciplinary and interdisciplinary exchanges between investigators.

To do this, we have scheduled disciplinary group meetings for the morning sessions and interdisciplinary group meetings for the afternoon. During days 2 to 4, talks will be given which are intended to "set the stage" for the synthesis work to be accomplished during and after the workshop. These talks will focus on the modeling context for doing the population dynamics of the target species and the data required to initialize the models and verify model results, on the broad-scale patterns of distributional abundance of the target species, and on the vital rates of these species. This structure is intended to be quite flexible and subject to modification by the working groups and investigators during the course of the workshop.

Please note that discussions about the 1997 field program are scheduled for Sunday, the 10th of November and the election of new EXCO members will take place (by ballot and via email) between Friday and Monday with results to be presented on Tuesday, the 12th of November.

Workshop participants are encouraged to suggest additional topics for discussion.
